Dear Michelle!

I am “pleased as punch” that you have again chosen Get in the Kitchen! to host your party!  We know we can create an event that will be a lip smacking good time for all! I am happy to furnish this proposal for your review and comments.

Date:  November 14th , 2023 6:30PM-9:30 PM.  Please plan to start on time. If the party goes over the allotted time period by more than 30 minutes due to guest lateness, charges will start to incur at the rate of $100 per hour and will not be prorated. These charges will be due upon completion of the party. These charges will not incur if the lateness is due to any fault of Get in the Kitchen and its staff.

Price is $89 per person and this party is subject to a minimum of $1,200. A 50% deposit is required to reserve the date and time, and full payment is due 7 days before the event. See next section for details on refunds.  Pricing includes all food items, instruction and applicable taxes. Pricing does not include any extra beverages, entertainment and optional gratuity. See below for information on wine & Alcohol, other beverages, entertainment and gratuity.

Deposit and Payment:  50% deposit is refundable up to 90 days prior to the event. After that, please see refund policy below for terms. The deposit for this party will be $675 based on the minimum and the addition of dancing to the package at a discounted rate.

Full payment is due 7 days before the event. Full payment will be based on final guest count and will be non-refundable. Should you want to add more people to the event after final payment is made, full payment for all add-ons is to be paid before event commences. No refunds will be given for any guests who have been paid for and are unable to attend for any reason.

Refund Policy: Fully refundable up to 90 days before the event. After that, your deposit is non-refundable. ANY CANCELLATIONS WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE EVENT ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND FULL PAYMENT PLUS ANY ENTERTAINMENT EXPENSES WILL BE REQUIRED AS WE WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO MARKET AND FILL THE TIME. HOWEVER, YOU CAN SUBSTITUTE UP TO AS MANY GUESTS THAT HAVE BEEN PAID IN FULL FOR THE TIME SLOT.

COVID & OTHER UNFORSEEN PUBLIC HEALTH EVENTS REFUND POLICY

If we are shut down due to COVID or any other governmental public health restrictions applied to the City of Chicago prior to 14 days out, we will issue a full refund of your deposit. If we are shut down due to Covid Restrictions or any other governmental public health restrictions applied to the City of Chicago within 14 days of your event, we will offer a 50% refund of any monies paid and 50% credit towards any cooking party, merchandise in the store or public cooking party. This is because we start to incur costs within 14 days of any event.

 

PROPOSED MENU

Dinner & Dancing Tapas!

We will instruct your guests how to make a holiday tapas inspired menu and then have an hour long dance lesson following. We will allow one substitution per small plate for dietary restrictions. If there are multiple restrictions requiring multiple substitutions to any of the small plates, additional charges may apply. These charges will be $25 per substitution over one (1) and would not be included in the minimum for the party. Substitutions refer to the amount of restrictions and not the amount of people needing them. I.e. if two people require a vegetarian meal, this would count as 1 substitution.

 

The menu will be chosen at least 4 weeks prior to the event.

 

In addition, you will get our signature cocktail of Cream Soda (Cardamom Cinnamon Simple Syrup, Rum Amaretto & Club Soda) enough for one per person.

 

Entertainment:

You have decided on Dancing lessons, to accompany the event. We have discounted the cost from $200 to $150 for this addition. If you decide on any other entertainment, additional deposits equal to half of the cost for the entertainer will be due at time and the pricing for additional entertainment will be as follows:

Entertainment:

  • Comedian: $100
  • Magician: $350
  • Pianist: $350
  • Drag Queen: $175
  • Karaoke DJ Host Premium Package (includes lighting and effects) $350
  • Drag Queen Karaoke DJ Host Basic Package $175
  • Karaoke DJ Host Basic Package $175
  • Dancing Lessons: $200
  • Custom or General Trivia & Games: $75

 

Beverages: This party comes with a signature cocktail and Mocktail. The cocktail will be chosen at least 2 weeks prior to the event and will be enough for 1-2 cocktails per person.

We will also provide water with lemon and an assortment of bottles of soda for your guests.

Wine & Spirits: We offer wine for sale in our store that will be ready for you that evening if you order ahead. You may also purchase wine that evening. If you are interested in purchasing wines or spirits, we suggest you have a couple of bottles available for guests at the beginning of the party. Our wines are priced at approximately $12, $15 and $20 and they are spectacular! We will furnish you our current Wine & Spirits list closer to the event. Wine and spirits must be purchased through our store.

Cakes and outside Foods:

You are welcome to bring a cake or any other already prepared and cooked foods that have been prepared in a facility monitored by the Chicago Department of Health into the facility.

Gratuity

Gratuity is neither expected nor required. However, if you feel our staff has done an exceptional job, it is accepted and always appreciated.  Our staff’s salaries are not dependent on gratuity and is at your discretion. Should you want to give gratuity, we would recommend anywhere between 10-15%.
