Ingredients
  • 3 cups Jasmine white rice pre-cooked, refrigerated (at least 2 hours-great for leftover rice)
  • Beef and Marinade
  • 4 oz flat iron/flank/stir fry steak diced in 1" cubes
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Miso Ho-Nee Asian Blend or equal mix of dry minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, ginger with a pinch of both five spice and white pepper
  • 1 tbsp rice or Sherry wine
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • For fried rice
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic diced
  • 1/2 onion diced
  • 2 tbsp lemongrass fresh, sliced fine
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger fresh, diced or substitute 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sugar or honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables defrosted (corn, peas, green beans)

  • 1/2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables defrosted (corn, peas, green beans)

Instructions
  1. Prepare the Jasmine Rice and refrigerate for at least two hours.
  2. Combine the ingredients for the marinade and marinate the diced beef, covered in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  3. In a deep frying pan or wok, sauté (on medium/high heat) beef and the marinade until browned in about a tbsp of sesame oil (about 2-3 minutes). Remove beef and set aside in a bowl and cover.
  4. Add a little more sesame oil and sauté onions, garlic, lemongrass and ginger on medium/ medium-high heat for about a minute until onions become translucent.
  5. Add rice, white pepper, sugar or honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce, vinegar and sauté for another 5 minutes or so until rice is warmed through.
  6. Add the vegetables and mix thoroughly and let cook for another 2 minutes until the peas become bright green.
  7. Add the beef back and sauté for another 2 minutes until warmed through and to medium rare.
  8. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and serve.
